What I learned when my internet crashed…

What if I told you that you know the secret to the creative genius, but you don’t know you know it? Well, you do know the secret to the creative genius and simply don’t know you know it.

So here is a reminder.

It’s 10:45. I have a video analysis project due in one hour and fifteen minutes. The video is forty minutes long. I am exhausted. Friends had stopped by earlier in the day and entertaining them had a take a toll on my mind and body. I am exhausted. All I want to do is turn off the lights and go to sleep.

However, knowing the consequences of not completing my project, I sit at my oak desk, open my Surface, and search up the short film that is currently preventing me from falling asleep. I hit play. The short film, which isn’t even in my first language, drags on for five minutes as my head bobs up and down trying to stay awake.

I pause the video and set the speed at 2x. I am now watching a film in a foreign language at 2x speed while I am supposed to be answering analysis questions that are also in a foreign language.

I would consider this one of my less bright moments in my day.

Thankfully, my internet crashed. As a result, I had a brilliant reason to go to…
